Greg Smith

Personal Background

I am a baby boomer born and raised in New Jersey. I attended college in North Carolina and moved to Texas in 1977. I moved to Round Rock in 1983 . In 1986 I married Charlene. We recently celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary. We have a son and daughter who attend college here in central Texas. One at UT and the other at ACC. My wife has recently started her own business called Spirit in Glass. She makes fused glass art.

Educational Background

I received my Bachelor of Science degree form East Carolina University in 1973 with majors in Math and Physics. I received my Master's degree in 1975Since moving to Texas I have earned over 45 semeste hours of credit at Austin Community College in fields varying from Real Estate to Web Design. I received my real estate salesman's license in 1984 and my broker's license in 1988. I received the Residential Sales Specialist (CRS) designation in 1994, the Acredited Buyer Representative designation (ABR) in 2001 and the e-Pro designation in 2006. I have completed over 40 contuning education courses since being licensed.

Work Experience

I taught Math and Physics for nine years in both North Carolina and Texas. I started in real estate working for the Bill Milburn company, now DR Horton, in new home sales in 1984. In 1989 I started my own brokerage company selling new and resale homes. I added mortgage services in 2002 and orginated loans for clients until the regulations became too burdensome in 2010. Property management was added in 2004 and continues to be a major part of my business. I have sold weel over a thousand homes during my real estate career. I roughly 60% I represented the buyer and the remainder the seller. About 25% were sales of new homes and another 20% or so were foreclosures. I am an approved by HUD, VA, FannieMae, FreddieMac and SIRVA Relocation.

Hobbies and Community Activities

My major community involvement has been with the boy Scouts where I spent fourteen years in a variety of positions including Scoutmaster and Venture Crew Advisor. I have always had an interest in science and technology and have started designing and building websites. My other major passion is golf. Some day I may become good at it.
